Hi Guys! I know its been so so so long since I’ve posted and I am seriously so sorry- Ive been so caught up with school, assignments and exams I haven’t had the time! However I have had the time to build up a list of things I want to write about and this week ill be reviewing the movie ‘SAN ANDREAS’ Staring Dwayne Johnson AKA the Rock! I’ve seen a few films since the last time I posted so slowly, I will be writing reviews on them, and let me tell you- some of them are incredible, and some of them.. I would rather watch paint dry then have to sit through them movies again! Harsh… but that’s the honest truth!
Before I get started- I might just write about what’s been going on with me. As some of you are aware, I’m currently studying a diploma in Beauty Therapy to become a Beauty Therapist. I absolutely love what I do- However the last few months have been super stressful with the classes I have been given this semester. There are a lot of exams, A lot of assignments, Practical and Theory- and There has been I really needed to focus on to ensure my grades were high and ensure I didn’t just ‘pass’. When you are passionate about something you really want to succeed, and that’s why I placed a lot of my time and effort into my schooling and put all my social media and blogging aside. Im back now and cannot wait to share with you guys the reviews, tips and everything in between Ive wanted to write about! Today though- I will be reviewing the film San Andreas. Lets get this started!
FILM REVIEW- SAN ANDREAS
Directed By: Brad Peyton
This film is about the San Andreas fault triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake. Helicopter Pilot and search and rescue officer, Ray (Dwayne Johnson) must navigate the destruction from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save his daughter who is stuck in the midst of all the chaos and destruction.
I honestly, Cannot fault this film. I absolutely loved it. The story line was incredible the effects were mind blowing, and even one of Australia’s own, Kylie Minogue was spotted in the film.
Anyone who knows me, knows I love action films and this film was definitely full of action and scenes keeping you on the edge of your seat. I believe the casting of this film was SPOT ON. No one plays a tough, scared of nothing rescue officer like Dwayne Johnson does! He plays his role as a Hero and Father, Perfectly in this film.
Something that really stood out to me in this film also was the fact that although majority of the film was focused on the falling of buildings and chaos, there was still such a solid, incredible story line, which made you feel for the characters and what was going on. I love that. I’ve seen so many films previously that are actioned based, However the story line wasn’t great and their wasn’t enough focus on the characters, their feelings and what was going on in their lives, where this film, San Andreas focuses around the story and the action. There was not a dull or boring moment in this film either I realised. Every moment there was something to focus on or something important.
The cast of this film all worked together really well and vibed incredibly. Each actor was chosen perfectly for their role and seeing Kylie Minogue playing a bitchy business woman was definitely a shock! Ive always enjoyed watching Dwaynes heroic movies, but there was something about this one that really captured my heart.. That was the bond between character Ray (Dwayne) and his Daughter Blake (Played by Alexandra Daddario). I obviously do not want to give too much away, but there is a special scene which shows the love and concern Ray has for his daughter and how he will go through all measures to make sure she is safe and back with her Parents. It really is touching.
Moving on to the special effects in this movie- This is really big for me to say, but I honestly believe that these are some of the most mind blowing, realistic effects I have ever seen. I literally could not fault them! The buildings falling, the waves, the ships crashing- It was all so incredibly well done and fit so perfectly into each scene.
To put it lightly, I plan on going and seeing this film again in cinemas. What I loved about it though was seeing it in 3D. The only thing I didn’t like are the shitty glasses Hoyts give you, they aren’t even straight and don’t sit on your face properly.. but that’s not the point here.. haha.
Without giving too much away- If you enjoy your action films that keep you on the edge of your seat, that luckily have an incredible story line- this is for you. The movie is so realistic and incredible and I really cannot fault anything. I was a massive, massive fan of San Andreas! What an amazing film! Make sure you all go catch it and watch it on the big screen- you don’t want to see it any other way!
SAN ANDREAS RATING:
I give this film 5 out of 5 STARS.
