Hey guys! I thought seeing as my last post was all about my current skincare loves, I would now let you in on all my current makeup loves! It still amazes me every single day how much makeup is growing and all the new and exciting things that all brands are coming up with! Just when we think we have seen it all, a brand brings out something new that blows all us makeup lovers brains and keeps us guessing with what will actually be created next!

Take me back a year ago I was all about doing full glam every single day, but when I’m not working, I like to keep it more on the natural side, so I’ll be able to cater for the full glam gals and guys as well as the more natural glam gals/guys with this post! So before i keep rambling on, lets get started!

This little bottle of absolute heaven has been my number one go to for a natural, bronzed glow. The product is infused with Argan oil which is super hydrating for your skin so while it makes your makeup look fresh and flawless, its also helping give your skin that extra boost of hydration!

Pros: A bottle of this illuminizer lasts me MONTHS! The smallest amount (pea size) will cover your entire face and keep you glowing for days. I even sometimes multi use it by adding it over my foundation for a natural highlight without using powder highlighters. Its super light weight and can be worn by itself for a natural glow too! I love that it has the argan oil through it to keep your skin happy, hydrated and glowy!

Cons: I dont really have cons for this product, it is worth the price, however if you use to much your whole hands are glowy, so i suggest using a brush, thats more of a tip than a con though!

We all know how much smashbox slay the game when it comes to their primers, one of their new ones is the two in one primerizer – a primer and moisturiser in one! The formula is super light weight, super hydrating and just feels like the perfect base before you slay your face with makeup.

Pros: The product delivers 24 hour hydration which is perfect for my fellow Australians with the warm weather already starting to hit us! (thank god!) As I said, the formula is super light so when applying to the skin its not thick or heavy. Whats incredible about this primer is that there is zero dry time, so if you/re in a rush as soon as you place it on the skin you can get straight into your foundation base, unlike so many other primers!

Cons: Once again, theres not much negativity I can say about this product, only thing as a skin specialist, I still use a moisturiser underneath this primer as I’m pretty strict with my skincare routine!

Ive truly gone through a whole bottle of this so quickly! Not because its small or wastes quickly, but because i’m absolutely OBSESSED with it!! This new little spray by too faced is a multi use product, You can use it as a spray primer, a setting spray for your makeup and a hydration booster spray for the warm weather us Australians have been experiencing lately, Its honestly one you need in your makeup bag!

Pros: Its three in one, so its perfect for travel, its perfect if you dont want to use multiple products for your makeup and its PERFECT for the warmer weather we are getting! It smells like a tropical holiday and is honestly my go-to for everything. Its not sticky like other setting sprays and works so well when going for that natural glow!

Cons: Honestly cannot fault this product, the bottle is large so you get so much out of it. Its a must have!

Price: $46.00 available at http://www.mecca.com.au

If you are a mecca beauty junkie you would know all about the Mecca lit from within highlighter.. well.. now we have the mecca cosmetica lit from within illuminating drops and let me just say.. I’m OBSESSED! These little drops of heaven are multi use and will keep you glowing for days! the drops are super light weight and work in multiple different ways to keep you dewy, glowing and hydrated!

Pros: Ive been into liquid illuminators for a while now and after trying this one, what i love about it is how light weight it is, but how much of a natural glow it gives the skin. Its soft, silky and blends so easily! You can use this product mixed with your foundation, mixed with your moisturiser or serum for a natural glow and an extra boost of hydration or even on top of your foundation for a liquid heaven highlight!

Cons: The only thing I would change about this product is the size, I literally want all of the lit from within illuminator and NEED it all, but thats just me being greedy 😉

Have you ever gotten super angry after doing your makeup perfectly, then you go and set with powder and you look dry, powdery and it ruins your whole look? Well not with this bad boy in your life! These powders will set your makeup but keep your skin looking glowy, even and beautiful. The dim light colour is my favourite, but there are multiple to chose from that mimic different lighting effects.

Pros: The powder is super velvety which means it sets to the skin beautifully and makes your skin still look glowy and natural. The packaging and product is beautiful, which hourglass are so amazing when it comes to any product they produce and how they display them! The compact lasts forever and only the smallest amount is needed to set your foundation!

Cons: I personally cannot fault this product, but if you are someone who prefers a matte finish, Id suggest not going for something like these powders, however I would always suggest going into a local mecca and trying it on the skin, I’m sure you will fall in love with it!

This heaven sent highlighter has always been one of my go-to favourites! This mineral based highlighter is super soft, so easy to blend and gives the perfect pop of highlight to the face. The colour works on me when I am pale and when I have a fake tan, which I love! I’ve even used this all over the skin when I run out of my hourglass ambient [powder and it set my foundation perfectly!

Pros: Theres 77 mineral complexes in this powder that glide on the skin so smoothly. I love the beautiful natural highlight this powder gives! Its soft, velvety and the perfect highlight for so many skin tones!

Cons: I find that i go through these pretty quickly, but thats only probably because I use it all the time!

Its a medium to full coverage foundation, velvety and blends perfectly! Theres 8 beautiful shades to chose from and number 4 looks perfect with a fake tan! Ive gone through bottles of this foundation already thats how much i LOVE it!!

Pros: This product is SO affordable, yet SO good!! I honestly was blown away when i tried it. It blends so perfectly, its so easy to build up to full coverage and stays on all day! If you dont want to spend heaps of money on a foundation this one is perfect! You get the great quality for such a great price.

Cons: I cant fault this one either, only thing i wish is there were more shades so I can fill my whole kit up with them!

Anyone who knows my personally knows how obsessed I am with my liquid liners, and Ive found my NUMBER ONE in this perversion pen by URBAN DECAY.  The pen not only makes it easier to get that wing razor sharp and perfect, but you can achieve such a fine line with them which makes it a perfect pen for beginners as well!

Pros: i suffer from bad watery eyes (i cry when i laugh its actually super weird) so the fact that this pen is waterproof, and actually lives up to that makes me so happy! Trust me when I say i have tried so many liquid liners, and this one is by far my number one – so all my fellow liquid liner lovers – I suggest you give this a go, I’m almost certain you will love it too!

Cons: The only thing i can say, like many liners- I feel like it runs out pretty quickly, but thats probably because I use it every day – however you push the pen and it will drain out all the liquid, which means you get the most out of the product. Another thing I wish it had was more colour choice, currently only black available so it would be great to see some different colours!

I dont think I go anywhere without this bad boy in my bag! This has got to be my all time favourite clear brown gel, it literally keeps my brows in shape for a buy day – whether thats with work, gym, the warm weather- I touch my brows all the time and this gel just ensures that they stay in place like i had only just done them!

Pros: The wand is super easy to use with 4 different lengths to decide how you want the brows to look (brushed up, more defined etc) the gel keeps your brows in place ALL day long and the product lasts forever! I use it every day and I’ve had mine for 3 months and there is still SO much product left.

Cons: Theres only one thing I can fault, is the smell of the gel – it might be because I’m sensitive to scents, but it actually isn’t the nicest smell in the world!

Price: $42.00 available at myer.com.au

If you have not heard of this product, then I’m sure you have been living under a rock – this is one of the most popular concealers on the market, and I 100% know why! Ive been using this concealer for years and i can honestly say I am obsessed!

Pros: There are so many pros for this product, its creamy, full coverage, really easy to blend and works so well as a skin tone concealer of if you’re like me, going 1-2 shades lighter to highlight certain points under the face. This concealer has hydrating properties so it will not dry out when you are using it either!

Cons: Theres only two things I can fault on this product, it is small, so it doesn’t last long – and SOMETIMES it sits in my creases – but that also depends on my skin!

Price: $44.00 available at http://www.mecca.com.au

Screen Shot 2017-10-19 at 8.27.43 PM.png

Screen Shot 2017-10-19 at 8.27.53 PM

So before telling you why I love this product, you may see the photo above looks way too dark for my skin tone to be a highlighter – thats because bare minerals have created highlighters for different skin tones – and i chose the deep-dark to use as a bronzer. As soon as I saw the orange tone marble mixed with a beautiful dark tan colour, I knew it would look perfect to define the cheek bones! the product has a beautiful amount of shimmer, so if you are like me and love the glow in both your highlighters and your bronzers, that is easy to blend, this is a MUST try product for you!

Pros: This is a mineral based product, so not only do you know its good to be placed on your skin, but the buttery texture blends so perfectly and makes it easy to have a beautiful textured tone and not a harsh line. This line by bare minerals mimic the sunlight, so when your skin is in the sun, you look natural, glowy and chiseled to perfection 😉

Cons: Another one i cant fault, its SUPER pigmented, so make sure when you use it, to tap your excess off and slowly build your colour.

Price: $40.00 available at http://www.mecca.com.au

Hey guys, I hope you all had a b-e-a-utiful day, today I wanted to explain a few things and explain why I haven’t posted something like what you are about to read, before.  i have been wanting to make this post for a while now,  but have been putting it off. Not because I’m scared or nervous of what I want to say, but because I want to say it in the most educational way possible, a way in which I can give more insight into why I’ve changed my views and the way I’m living my life. It’s not a sudden change for me, I believe it’s one I have been pushing myself to make for a while now that I’ve been putting all the signs together, it’s the perfect time for me to put my thoughts to words for you guys to understand.

I spent so many years of my life worrying what everyone thought of me, I let it consume me for so long until I literally woke up one morning and thought ‘fuck it, I’m going to do me and whoever I attract in my life by simply being comfortable with myself, they’re the people who I should be focusing on’ and that’s exactly what I did, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. The reason why I believe it’s the best thing I’ve done for myself is simple. The people I’m attracting are the most down to earth, spiritual and knowledgable people I have ever met. I use to hide myself in a little bubble, fearing rejection from anyone I didn’t personally know and that’s something that stopped be from meeting the right people who would spark up my creativity, who would open my mind to possibilities I would never have imagined. When you look behind a physical appearance, when you look beyond materialist items and the way someone presents themselves on the outside, it opens you up to a whole new level of how I now believe you should connect with someone – and thats within your soul. This was always something that I felt highly of, but wasn’t aware of the amount of people who feel the same way I do, and it honestly brings my heart so much joy knowing people also look beyond looks and physical appearance when connecting with another.

In life, and growing up the way our generation has grown up – we have been taught a particular routine of what we should do, when we should do it, and why we should do it. We are taught to get good grades, get into a good school, study something, work, pay bills, get a house, get married, settle, have children. Now dont get me wrong, I know its not like this for everyone, and thats just a typical life routine, and in no way m I saying that its wrong – it is the right path for so many and if this path is what has caused you to be so internally happy – then I have so much respect for that, however for me and my future – its something I am stepping away from. I watch so many family members and friends suffer from feeling not successful, not good enough – all because they are in their twenties and haven’t settled yet, haven’t financed a house yet, or are still single. I watch them cry and tear themselves apart all because we have grown up believing we have to have everything figured out. What works for someone else, and someone else’s life journey, it will always be different then yours – that is not a bad thing. I have learnt to embrace my situation. Im 22, Ive been single for over a year now, I’m earning less in the job I am in now, then what i was doing previously. I dont own a house, i dont have myself financially set (just yet) and I have no idea where my future is going to take me, and I am so perfectly and utterly happy with that. Why? Because I am trusting my journey. Im happier in my work place because I’m doing something I’m passionate about, I’m meeting people who I honestly now know, and feel are the people Ive been missing in my life, I’m making memories and forming friendships and bonds that will last so much longer then anything materialistic, and I know that if I’m spending time with these people, making memories and focusing on what I am passionate about – everything is going to come together when it is the right time for it to come together – and that is becoming reality for me daily.

Anyone who knows me personally, knows I’ve always been connected to spirituality and healing. I’m a strong believer in ‘everything happens for a reason’ and that we are on a journey. Not everything is going to make sense right now but you need to trust you struggles, trust your journey and trust that every step you are taking, the planned, the spontaneous and the ones where you allow yourself to step out of a normal comfort zone, those are the steps that are going to shape you into the person you are meant to be. The problem that we have with a ‘victim mentality’ is that we forget to see the blessings every day brings to us, because of this, our spirit is poisoned instead of nourished. Instead of complaining about the bad in your life and questioning ‘why is this happening to me?’, have you thought about waking up just feeling lucky to be living another day, having another day to live like it’s your last. Using your time in the most positive and meaningful way, because only you can change your path and your own journey.

As crazy as it is for me to say, you need to believe in your infinite potential, your only limitations are the ones you set upon yourself. I stopped doing a lot of things I loved because I was scared. Scared of rejection, scared of not being good enough and simply not believing in my own abilities and chasing my own dreams. Is that anyone’s fault but my own? No. But dwelling on things that have already passed and things that are now out of your control is not the way to live. I now learn from my mistakes, I take them as lessons that build me into a better person, build me into a stronger person and is shaping me to be able to help others learn from the mistakes I have made.

You need to Believe in yourself, your abilities and your own potential.Never let self doubt hold you captive of achieving your dreams. You are worthy of all that you dream and hope of, and sometimes a simple self reflection is the answer to help you find that. I cannot put into words how much taking some time for myself to think, sit, ponder and reflect has helped me not only emotionally, but spiritually. Now please dont take the heading of my blog as me having a dig at anyone with a different view or opinion, I am talking about myself. I use to ignore these signs simply because I was comfortable. Not happy, but comfortable. Comfortable in a relationship I knew wasn’t right, comfortable with not challenging myself both physically and mentally, and comfortable with not allowing myself to grow – and that has all changed dramatically for me.

I now love to challenge myself in all aspects of my life, and if opportunity arises for me, I grab onto it like no tomorrow – because I will not live my life with regrets, I will not miss opportunities to form the most beautiful bonds and connections with such beautiful people – and I will not live my life on a side line anymore. I understand that this was a lot to read through, but if one person can put the puzzle pieces together, and takes something positive from my change, then that makes it all worth while for me. I ask for you all to challenge yourselves, dont be afraid to dig deep into your spirit and let it guide you in the right direction, because only you, can help yourself, and I can promise you this – you will thank yourself for it.

Im going to end this with something I wrote not long ago which I know has hit home for  few people who have reached out and maybe it will help you too – think about the three C’s of life – your Choices, Chances and Changes. You’ve got to make a choice to take a chance, or your life will never change. Do things that make your soul feel alive, do things that are out of your comfort zone and have no regrets in doing what’s going to make you happy,

Thank you guys so much, from the bottom of my heart for always taking the time out to either leave comments, message me on my social media or just let me know that you think about my posts – the feedback I receive is so beautiful and you all allow me to produce content that means so much to me personally, so honestly – thank you, It is so, so appreciated.

Until next time,

Hey there guys! i hope you are all having a fantastic week. I apologise for this challenge taking so long to be uploaded, there is a reason for that, and I will explain it to you all. This weeks challenge was very hard for me to not only film, but also post. I was hesitant. Why? Because as you will see in my video, I am so raw and vulnerable when I talk about my Body dysmorphic disorder. The emotions hit me hard, the truth hits me hard, and the words i speak are all the truth.

These challenges however were all made to help me grow as a person, and also to challenge me to step out of my comfort zone, and thats exactly what i did.

screen-shot-2017-01-10-at-2-13-15-pm

I learnt to not hold back on discussing something important, even if it is so hard for me to talk about, because even if it means I can help one person out, then that is me doing my job. I suffered way too long with this disorder and if having someone watch my video and realise that they are not alone with anything they are currently fighting with their own battles, then that is truely enough for me. Speaking about it, and letting my emotions out also helped me on my own journey as well. Sometimes you really just need to let out how your feeling in order to feel better. Its never a good option to just let emotions build up. Always know that there is help out there and that you are not alone.

I think it is only fair that I worn you all that I do get emotional in this video. It was not a cry for attention, but a way for me to get my message out there. Thank you so much for your continuous support and beautiful words. It seriously means the world to me.

Until next time,

Hey All! I hope the start of you week has been exciting! As the festive season comes to an end, everyone starts off strong with their new years resolutions and getting ready to head back to work. 2017 is going to be such a good year, I can already feel it and we are only 2 weeks in! As you guys know, My 2017 resolution was to focus on my health, my fitness and completely change my mindset by completing my 2017 challenge. I am now into week two and I’m so excited to show you guys this weeks challenge!

This weeks challenge was focused around friendship. Spending time with my friends, focusing on them and really showing them how much they mean to me. This week I did a lot of that on and off camera. I think its important to keep a balance of what you show to the world and what you keep between you and your friends.

screen-shot-2017-01-10-at-2-13-15-pmThis challenge really helped me to open up to my friends and connect with them on different levels. Sometimes i get so busy during the week I forget to set aside some time to see them and really make a connection with them, and thats something I am working on. I know if it wasn’t for my best friends, I really would not have gotten through 2016 and through some of the toughest moments of my life. I have the most beautiful group of friends and I am so thankful for each of them. They make every day enjoyable and make every time I see them so much fun. I learnt to never ever take a friend who is there for you for granted, You should be so grateful for the ones who will prove to you just how much you mean to them, Keep them friends close. We may only be 2 weeks, but this challenge was one of my favourites, nothing brings me more joy then seeing the people i love, Smiling.

Thank you all so much for taking your time to read and watch. It was never my intention for anyone to message me and tell me how much they are enjoying them, or nor did I think I would even get one view, I was purely making them for me to be able to reflect on, but the feedback has been so beautiful. I really hope you guys enjoy this weeks video/challenge.

Until Next time,

The first 2017 challenge ever and I am SO excited to share this with you all! Last week from Sunday the 1st of Jan, to Sunday the 8th of Jan, I had the challenge of visiting 5 beaches within that week to reflect, focus on myself and really just getting out and exploring. I also got to incorporate fitness by walking each path at each of the beaches I visited.

Its crazy when you just have a focus and you really get to just shut off from the world and focus on the beauty around you, and I was lucky enough to do that at each beach I visited. Im not going to lie, these videos and posts are about me being raw and honest, and of course at 2 of the beaches, I got emotional, but still sat there, let myself cry and it made me feel so, so much better to just express myself and let out the emotions I had been building up for so long.

screen-shot-2017-01-10-at-2-13-15-pm

I learnt that not everything is worth worrying about. When I was sitting by the water focusing on the waves I really got to thinking about myself and how much I let worry get to me, and truly it is not worth it. We dont have much time on this beautiful planet and we really need to make the most of what we have. Dont hold grudges, dont get upset about small things and dont let yourself think you are not worth it, because you really are. I spent so many years of my life thinking I wasn’t good enough, when in fact, I am, I always have been and I can hold my head up high.

Another beautiful thing I learnt from this challenge was to think of worrying and pain like a package, talk about it, write it down, and throw the “package” in the water and let the waves carry all your worries away. The beach and watching the ocean is now the place I will go to reflect and really help with any built up worry or frustration I have. I am so grateful to live in an area that allows me to visit such beautiful places and I cannot wait to explore more of the beaches Australia has to offer.

Thank you so much for taking your time to read and watch my posts. It truly means the world to me. I cannot wait to continue to share my challenges with you all.

Until next time,

Happy 2017 to all you beautiful souls! As you would have been able to tell, I took a long break in 2016, and this comes down to a lot happening in my personal life and just needing some time to myself, to focus on myself and what was making me so unhappy. I took a lot of time to just work, draw and think and in this time I came up with the Journey Jar, a massive challenge for myself in 2017. The challenge jar, to put it in simple terms is a jar full of challenges Ive created to push myself out of my comfort zone and really do things I would not have done before. I was fed up with never pushing myself harder, never challenging myself and never doing the things that made me happy because I was always worried about what others would think, and this way, i can change that. The jar has 52 challenges that I will have to complete week to week. Some health related, some fitness related and some to help me find self love, self growth and to help with the relationships I have with the people in my life.

To some, It might sound silly, but to me, having a jar visually there with challenges to select, It will make it a lot easier for me to stick to the challenges. I decided to also create Vlogs and videos to track this progress and will be uploading them onto my youtube channel. I am perfectly content and happy for these videos to get 0 views, as long as I can track my progress and see the changes i make in myself, I’ll be happy.

This challenge is not going to be easy for me. Even putting myself in front of a camera is super nerve racking and going to be a challenge, but if it means I can become a better person and have little to no regrets with living my life in 2017 and onwards, then that will be a win for me.

Thank you for being patient with me as I took my long break and for always being so kind, supportive and loving towards my website and towards me, It does not go un noticed ♡

Hi all.

I firstly have to start this post by apologising to you all, Ive had many people contact me on my qooh account wondering why I haven’t posted much, and I know I should have been, but I promise, there is a real reason as to why I haven’t been posting.

You know I am always raw and honest with my readers, I always have been. But over the last month I’ve had some time to really sit down and reflect on who I am as a person and how much I put on social media. In recent times, I have realised I definitely spend too much time on my platforms and too much time worrying about whats going on, what people think of me and how people take my posts. I have realised that, that in itself is not healthy. I decided to take action and delete my facebook account just for a little while, or maybe for a long while. I want to use my time and my life for good. I want to explore my surroundings, learn new things, become an even better person so I can better myself for my loved ones and friends. I want to get into the best physical shape of my life and possibly even document that journey, but back on track, Its time to explain why I have been so MIA.

About 3 weeks ago I started to feel horrible pains in my abdomen. I dont just mean a stomach ache, or cramps, I mean it literally felt like someone was stabbing me in the side.. I let it go for a few days, being stubborn I thought it was most likely just a horrible stomach ache or cramps, but as days went on the pain just got worse and worse. I decided to tell my Mum about it and we started to monitor the pain, but less than 24 hours after that it was becoming unbearable. I decided to go to the doctor, and after him touching my stomach just once, he sent me straight to the hospital emergency room. It was all happening so fast I was overwhelmed with emotion. I found myself scared.. Im usually a pretty healthy girl, Yes I get the occasional cold but I had not been in pain like that before.

Within 5 minutes of being admitted, I had so many doctors and surgeons around me, 2 needles in my arms and my Mum stressing out. Before I knew it they had me up in the ward. Wow.. I was admitted. I had not been admitted in hospital since I had my tonsils out in 3rd grade, So it was so different for me.. All though I’m 21, It was scary to me. No one knew what was going on with me, no one knew why this pain was happening and even the surgeons were worried about me. I decided I didn’t want my phone as a distraction, I needed time to be on my own and focus on what was happening to me and my body, so I asked my Mum to take it, Plus I was constantly falling in and out of consciousness.

tegan 1.jpg

(Me and Mum)

My first night being in the hospital they took my down for a cat scan, I cant put into words just how much it hurt climbing from one bed to the other just to have the scan done. The nurses were wonderful and were scared to find out what was going on with me also. The scan room was cold and I just wanted it over. My first night in hospital wasn’t any better. My Mum stayed by my side on the two little chairs the hospital provided and we both struggled to get sleep. I tossed and turned all night with nurses giving me pain killers and taking my blood pressure almost hourly.

Over the next few days they tried to figure out what was wrong with me, while my pain was getting worse and worse, until the cat scan results come in. The doctors all crowded in my room to tell me that I had a burst ovarian cyst and my appendix had become inflamed. They said the cyst caused internal bleeding and it was important for them to perform surgery to remove the bleeding, fluid and appendix. Hearing this made me break down. Yes, I had my Mum by my side which I was so grateful for, but there were others I just wish were there for me.

By Saturday, early afternoon, 4 days since being admitted, I was finally being prepped for surgery. Nothing can really prepare you for it.. Its scary. your heart starts racing and you become numb. I remember being taken down to front of the surgery room before my mum had to leave.. I remember telling her to just tell one person that I loved them and that I was being taken into surgery.. thats all I cared about. I wish I didn’t cry.. but thats all I was doing.. was crying and crying some more. I was scared, I was alone and I wanted the pain to be over.

The surgeons explained to me everything that was going to happen, where they would be cutting me open and how they were going to get me to sleep, and before I knew it I had a mask on my face and being told to count back.. I got to 7 and thats the last thing I remember. I then remember waking up in recovery with a nurse calling my name over and over again. I remember feeling the pain when I woke up too.. I couldn’t even talk without it really hurting. I remember being rolled back to my room with my Mum waiting for me. I was struggling to keep my eyes open.. Struggling to even sit up.

tegan 3.jpg

(Myself 5 minutes after returning from recovery)

The night of my surgery was probably one of the worst. I kept looking at the door hoping someone would walk in, I kept moving and it would hurt.. I kept coughing and it would hurt. I just remember promising myself that once I was recovered I wasn’t going to take things in my life for granted.  I was not going to take the people in my life for granted, and I wasn’t going to go a day without telling the people i loved, that I loved them and would be there for them, through it all.

tegan 2

(My wounds – small, yet painful)

I was released less than 24 hours after my surgery, and before I knew it i was back in there. They made a mistake by letting me out too early and I had to go back in for another 2 days. I ended up signing myself out of hospital late on the Tuesday night. I was uncomfortable there and i felt a lot more comfortable at home.  That was a week ago, and Im still so sore. Its the little things i miss. Not being able to go to the gym, not being able to go to kickboxing. It makes you appreciate your body and how lucky we are to do the things we do.

I recently had a minor setback, as my stomach wounds became infected – but I’m hoping to hit the gym next week for cardio, and hopefully the following week go back to kickboxing. Its going to take time, but If they hadn’t performed the surgery when they did, I could have died, so I am grateful to still be breathing.

Its crazy, Isnt it? How we take things for granted, and we dont realise how important things are until they are jeopardised. The last 3-4 weeks have been some of the toughest times of my life, and yes I wonder when things will get better, I wonder if they ever will. But I know, I am lucky to be here. I am lucky that they found the issue before it was too late and I am lucky to know the people I know. I cant sit here and complain why me? why do I feel the things I do, when I know there are so many people in worse situations.. and I know that those are the people I want to help. I dont want to have hate or jealousy in my heart. I am not only open to love and positivity. I want the people closest to me to feel loved, appreciated and know they will always have someone loyal and a positive light to there life, in me.

To anyone who checked on me while I was in hospital, messaged me or sent me something beautiful – Thank you. Your kind words and gifts were beautiful, and I am grateful for you all. To anyone who feels like there body is not right, to anyone who has this type of stomach pain or anyone who is putting off going to the doctors because your stubborn, Please change your mind. You are better off to ease your mind with nothing being wrong, then something being wrong and not getting it checked.

Until next time,

Happy Thursday everyone!

I hope you are all are having a fantastic week, and if you are a Melbournian, enjoying the lovely weather we were having! I feel like it has been warmer lately than the actual summer we had, I’m not complaining though.. well maybe I’ll complain about the bad weather we had today though!

Lately Ive been doing some research on healthy alternatives to sweet snacks as I am a massive sweet tooth and find it so hard to stay away from the sweets when I’m really craving them, and when I allow myself to have chocolate or I over indulge, I ALWAYS feel guilty! Last week, I was really craving banana bread with my green tea- I could have easily gone to my local cafe and grabbed myself a sugar filled band powdered banana bread- but I know deep down how bad they can be for us, and how some of them aren’t even made with real Banana’s! Imagine that!

I decided to head down to my local supermarket and pick up some healthy ingredients and make no added sugar, banana bread bites! These bites are super easy to make, super affordable and are guaranteed to fix your sugar craving (If you like Banana)

When I make a healthy alternative, I always ensure I test it myself and if I’m not happy with it, I will tweak the recipe until I am 100% happy with it – then I will post it for all you guys to try to! Now that I am happy with the recipe – lets take you all through it!

Screen Shot 2016-04-20 at 6.59.47 PM.png

  • 4 Very ripe Banana’s
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence or vanilla bean paste
  • 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup of wholemeal flower
  • 1 cup of plain flower
  • 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • pinch of salt

Screen Shot 2016-04-20 at 7.06.13 PM.png

STEP ONE:  Preheat the oven to 160C or 140C fan-force. Grease and line a bread tin or cake tin loaf pan with baking paper.

STEP TWO: Mash up all banana’s together in a bowl until smooth with little to no bumps/large pieces left.

STEP THREE: Add all wet ingredients to your mashed up banana’s. This includes:Add eggs, oil, milk and vanilla and stir until combined and smooth.

STEP FOUR: Now add your dry ingredients to your mixture – using a sifter for each ingredient. this includes: flours, cinnamon, baking powder, bicarbonate and salt. Mix all ingredients together.

STEP FIVE: Transfer your banana mixture from your bowl into your prepared baking tin evenly.

STEP SIX: Place your tin into your pre-heated oven and bake for 45 -60 minutes. Keep checking your mixture with a skewer and if it comes out clear, your bread is ready- and if its still wet with contents coming out – it still needs more time!

STEP SEVEN: Once the bread is cooked and still moist, remove from oven and allow to rest for at least 5- 10 minutes. Cut your bread into small pieces (see photo) and serve!

NOTE: If you would like extra flavour and are okay with being a little naughty- add some cinnamon sugar to the top of your bread pieces !

STEP EIGHT– Serve, and enjoy!

Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 7.16.20 PM.png

What is great about these banana bites is you can grab them as a snack, have them for desert with some yoghurt and fruit or simply have them as an on the go breakfast if you are in a rush – Now because they do contain flour, I dont suggest eating them all day, everyday – but as a snack or a quick meal they are the perfect go -to instead of a sugar packed artificial piece of bread that will cost you around $6.00 for a small piece!

I hope you guys enjoy these little bursts of delight just as much I do. You can enjoy them hot or cold and add anything you like to them! If you do end up making them – let me know your thoughts and what you added to them for extra flavour!

Until next time,

Hi all, I hope each and every one of you are having a great week.

As you would have been able to tell from my last post, I took a different approach lately with my posts and started to get deep and raw about what was going on in my life – the good and the bad. In my last post I discussed my Fathers lung transplant and his journey back to health and how emotional that has been for me and my family -Ive also in the past discussed my battle with body dysmorphia and the weight that can hold – and after some recent events- I think I wish to express myself on a personal level, yet again.

Ive always considered myself to be a 50/50 person. Why do I say that? Because no joke, 50% of people love me, and 50% of people hate me. A lot of people who know me personally, either take me on board, see the real me and see how much of a loving, loyal person I am – while the other 50% cannot stand me as a person, what I stand for and how easy I will stand up for what I believe in, and thats fine – We cannot please everyone in our lives, and I have learnt to live with that, and realise that it isn’t about the number of friends or loved ones we have, its about who will have your back, who will stand by you and who you can trust. Take me back 3 years ago I thought I could trust all my friends, family, loved ones. Fast forward to today and I can honestly count the people I trust on one hand.

Its crazy, isnt it? Looking back just a year ago and seeing how much or lives can change in just 12 months. One thing i have learnt in live though is, never to regret whats happened and what has lead us to where we are today – we all have a path to walk on and sometimes it may seem rocky, sometimes you might cry ‘why me’ but it does get better. Just over a month ago I distanced myself from social media and the world to focus on myself, my goals and the person I wanted to be – and it was one of the best things I ever did for myself and for the ones I love the most. I changed as a person, for the better. I changed my outlook on everything, I changed my mindset and my attitude and I couldn’t have been more proud of myself for that.

Lately, Ive had to go through something hard once again, and its not just with my Father, but having someone close to me go away for a while and with everything going on – I’ll admit, I was, and still am struggling. I feel like the support I needed in this time, was not given to me, and if I was 100% honest it hurts.  I know we all should rely on the people in our lives to be there for us all the time, but sometimes we just hope they will be and thats the sad thing.

We love hard, we put our faith into someone and we trust them to have your heart and not break it, and sometimes, It doesn’t work out the way we want it to and we end up hurt, hurt more than we ever thought we could hurt- because putting our trust and love into someone.. we give a part of ourselves to them, we truly do and when that trust is broken, a part of yourself dies with it and you’re stuck with what is real, what is a lie and what is the truth.

I know that when I love someone, I love deep, I love hard and you will never ever question my love, my loyalty or my respect for you. When someone betrays that trust, that love and that loyalty.. It leaves you so deeply torn. You ask yourself why? why me? What did I do? What could I have done differently? Am I not good enough? So many questions run through your head. You dont feel good enough, you dont feel strong – you feel weak, you feel un worthy, worthless – horrible! The feeling is not one I would wish upon my enemy and the worst feeling? the betrayal and wondering how you could love so deeply and be so loyal.. but someone else cant.. and thats the part that breaks your heart.

I know this isn’t a very helpful post. Its not a recipe, Its not a tip or a review, but its straight from the heart and thats something I promised to start doing with you all. I just pray this feeling and this never happens to any of you with any loved one of yours – because its horrible and you’re left wondering.. what next? Please remember I will always be here for every single one of you – dont forget that.

Keep your heads up – Keep fighting

Until next time,
